Where We Hang Out

It's no secret that Cleveland has a rock-and-roll reputation, with the world's only rock music museum and Hall of Fame holding a special place in the city's heart. But did you know Cleveland and Pepper Pike also have sophisticated museums, cozy coffeehouses, an excellent zoo, historical landmarks, nature trails, ethnic neighborhoods, wineries, and trendy shopping? Ursuline students make the most of their time, and when they hang out, they begin at some of these interesting places:
  • Prayer Labyrinth -- The roots of the prayer labyrinth go back to the Middle Ages -- it's a space on campus where you can drop everything for a few minutes, and just walk. Bringing grace and calm to our otherwise hectic lives, this spot is a favorite -- and very unique -- "hang-out" of many students in need of some peace of mind.
  • Beachwood Place Mall -- About a mile away, the shopping mall beckons Ursuline students who have a few extra dollars in their pockets! Favorites like the Gap, J. Jill and J. Crew, Nabici, BCBG, Sephora, and Mario's International Spa are sure to provide a weekend pick-me-up when you need it!
  • Legacy Village -- Offering first-class shopping and dining, Legacy Village was designed primarily as a community gathering place. Its unique charm includes green spaces, brick walkways, park benches, and fountains. Students enjoy simple pleasures like an afternoon ice cream cone or a casual date on the patio of one of the area's newest eateries.
  • University Circle -- Lots of other universities share Cleveland with Ursuline. University Circle is home to the nation's largest concentration of cultural and educational institutions within one square mile, as well as the Cleveland Museum of Art.
  • The Flats -- Along the waterfront (the east and west banks of the Cuyahoga River), where the industrial hub of Cleveland used to be centered, has emerged this eclectic blend of restaurants, dance clubs, and boating venues. A perfect place to spend a free Saturday.
  • The Gateway District -- Feel like seeing a professional sport? The district includes Jacobs Field, home of the Cleveland Indians (baseball), and Gund Arena, home of Cavaliers basketball. Students enjoy games, concerts and other events at this major venue.
