Your Career

What does success feel like? You can ask any Ursuline alum. Our graduates step into rewarding careers and feel the benefits of their Ursuline education for a long time after they walk across our stage to receive their degrees.

In a survey of 2004 Ursuline College graduates, nearly 60 percent reported that they were working in their field of study at graduation, as compared with the national average of 45.3 percent (National Association of Colleges and Employers).

We want you to gain those advantages, too. The Office of Counseling and Career Services will equip you with a "toolbox" full of skills you can use to develop your perfect career path. Special events like career workshops, job fairs, and an "Etiquette Dinner" are open to all Ursuline students, as are opportunities on campus to meet with employers.

In Ursuline's Career Mentoring Network, seniors are partnered with a professional in their field of study. And networking with our loyal alumnae is a sure way to find connections to the business community.

In fact, alumnae are an excellent testimony to Ursuline's record of launching successful careers.

Alum-what?

If you've never studied Latin, you might be confused by all the different kinds of "alum" that you read about. But don't get tongue-tied: At Ursuline, we're kind-of partial to "Alumnae."

  • Alumnus -- singular, male graduate of a school
  • Alumni -- plural male graduates (or a group of both males and females)
  • Alumna -- singular, female graduate of a school
  • Alumnae -- plural female graduates
