Qualified applicants are admitted regardless of gender, race, color, age, veteran status, ethnic origin or physical ability. The credentials of each applicant are individually evaluated, with consideration given to academic record, entrance examination scores, and evidence of motivation of college studies. The college reserves the right to deny admission to any applicant. Please read this page carefully before submitting your application.

In addition to meeting the above stated criteria for admission to Ursuline College, nursing applicants must demonstrate a proficiency in algebra, biology with lab, and chemistry with a C+ average in each these courses. Applicants who have not demonstrated such proficiency may be admitted as pre-nursing students or admitted to the College, but not to the nursing program.

Conditional Admission
Students may be admitted on a conditional basis if they do not meet all of the requirements for clear admission. Students admitted on a conditional basis may be limited to 12 credit hours per semester for their first year.

Program for Academic Success (PAS)
Students who do not meet all the requirements for clear admission may also be considered for admission to the PAS program. Students may be required to enroll in the PAS program when the following criteria are met:
  • ACT score between 14 and 17 or SAT score between 690 and 840
  • Weak high school curriculum or missing units of academic courses
  • High school grade point average below 2.5
You will be notified in writing if you qualify for the PAS program.

Early Action Program
All new Freshmen applying for admission prior to November 15th will be considered for the Early Action Program. Students must submit their application and application fee prior to this deadline for consideration. Students who are admitted to the Early Action Program are given priority housing selection and registration for classes, as well as early consideration for scholarships. Students will be notified in their acceptance letter regarding admission to this program. Students are not, however, obligated to Ursuline College simply because they are admitted into the Early Action Program.

Personal Interview

While a personal interview is not required for admission, we encourage applicants to visit the campus and consider interviewing. It gives the Admission staff a chance to get to know you and your goals, and you get to experience the campus first-hand. We would be pleased to arrange a campus tour or visit, complete with a sampling of actual classes. Campus visits are available Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:00 and in the evening and on Saturdays by appointment. Call the Office of Admission at (440)-449-4203 or 1-888-URSULINE to schedule an appointment, or schedule a visit online.
